FAQ

What privileges could be gained by an attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability? An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could gain ELEVATED privileges, which may allow them to perform actions beyond their original permissions. According to the CVSS metric, the attack complexity is high (AC:H). What does that mean for this vulnerability? Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires an attacker to have a deep understanding of the system and the ability to manipulate its components to trigger a specific condition. Successful exploitation is not guaranteed and depends on a combination of factors that may include the environment, system configuration, and the presence of additional security measures. How could an attacker exploit this vulnerability? An unauthenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability by submitting a password reset request using a specially crafted email address that is treated as equivalent to another account. Successful exploitation could allow the attacker to take over the targeted account. No user interaction is required.
